  • Scientific Name: Haworthia wandera 'Miami'
  • Common Names: Miami Haworthia
  • Native Region: Parent species native to South Africa.

Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate a few hours of direct morning sun but should be protected from harsh midday light, which may scorch the leaves.

Watering Needs: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. This drought-tolerant succulent is prone to rot if overwatered. Water even less frequently in cooler months.

Soil Preference: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. A blend with coarse perlite, pumice, or sand helps improve aeration and drainage.

How to Fertilize: Fertilize sparingly during spring and summer using a diluted cactus fertilizer once a month. Do not fertilize during fall or winter.

Hardiness Zone: Suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11. Protect from frost and cold drafts.

Pet Safety: Non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Additional Care Tips: This cultivar forms compact, ridged rosettes of dark green leaves with white striping. It’s ideal for windowsills, dish gardens, or small containers. Ensure good airflow and avoid letting water collect in the center of the rosette. Repot only when rootbound, and propagate from offsets to expand your collection.
