  • Scientific Name: Echeveria 'Perle von Nurnberg'
  • Common Names: Perle von Nurnberg Echeveria
  • Native Region: Hybrid cultivar; parent species are native to Mexico.

Light Requirements: Prefers full sun to bright, direct light. Grows best with at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight per day, which enhances its rosy-purple coloration and compact rosette form.

Watering Needs: Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry. Avoid getting water in the rosette, which can cause rot. Reduce watering in winter or low-light conditions.

Soil Preference: Use a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix with added pumice, perlite, or coarse sand to prevent soggy roots.

How to Fertilize: Fertilize during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer once a month or every 6 weeks. Skip fertilization in the fall and winter.

Hardiness Zone: Suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11. Not frost-hardy; bring indoors or protect from freezing temperatures below 25°F (-4°C).

Pet Safety: Non-toxic to cats and dogs. Safe to grow around pets.

Additional Care Tips: This hybrid echeveria is prized for its pastel coloration and dusty, sculptural leaves. Clean dust or debris gently with a soft brush rather than water. Remove dried lower leaves to improve airflow and reduce pest risk. Propagates easily from offsets or leaf cuttings. Provide strong light to avoid stretching.
